II.  WHAT WE ARE

A.)   Almetta Baptist Church is a fundamental, bible believing group of born-again Christians who gather in the name of our wonderful Lord to worship him in spirit and in truth.

B.)   Our main purpose is to win the souls of men who are outside of the love and care of our Savior.

C.)   We are not affiliated with any association group, yet we cooperate with any who strive to win souls and glorify the Lord Jesus.

D.)   We are not to be influenced by the policy or programs of any other church, Baptist or otherwise. We will cooperate with any church that the Lord leads us to. We are against modernism in any form, against worldliness and believe that all born-again believers will live a seperated life.

III.  WHAT WE BELIEVE

A.)    We believe in the verbal inspiration of the Bible.

B.)    We believe in the Trinity of the God-Head.

C.)    We believe in the virgin birth of Jesus Christ.

D.)    We believe in the total depravity of all human nature and subsequent need of regeneration.

E.)     We believe in the vicarious death of Jesus Christ for the sinner.

F.)     We believe in the bodily resurrection of our Lord.

G.)    We believe the Holy Spirit baptized the true believer into the body of Christ (1 Cor. 12:12) and uses the dedicated, yielded, Christian for his own glory -- not necessarily programs or organizations, such as robed clergy, choirs, and plays.

H.)    We believe in the personal premillennial return of our Savior.

I.)      We believe in the bodily resurrection of all mankind, either to eternal blessedness or eternal punishment.

Article II -- CHURCH COVENANT

Having been led as we believe by the Spirit of God, to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior and on the profession of our faith having been baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, we do now, in the presence of God and this assembly, most solemnly and Joyfully enter into covenant with one another as one body in Christ.

We engage, therefore, by the aid of the Holy Spirit to walk together in Christian love; to strive for the advancement of this Church, in knowledge, holiness, and comfort; to promote its prosperity and spirituality; to sustain its worship, ordinances, discipline, and doctrines; to contribute cheerfully and regularly to the support of the ministry, the expenses of the church, the relief of the poor, and the spread of the gospel through all nations.

We also engage to maintain family and secret devotions; to religiously educate our children; to seek the salvation of our kindred and acquaintances; to walk circumspectly in the world; to be just in our dealings, faithful in our engagements, and exemplary in our deportment; to avoid all tattling, backbiting, and excessive anger; to abstain from the sale of and the use of intoxicating drinks as beverage; to be zealous in our efforts to advance the kingdom of our Savior.

We further engage to watch over one another in brotherly love; to remember one another in prayer; to aid one another in sickness and distress; to cultivate Christian sympathy in feelings and Christian courtesy in speech; to be slow to take offense, but always ready for reconciliation and mindful of the rules of our Savior to secure it without delay.
